Convert WebP to JPG
- Choose a WebP file up to 40 MB.
- Set JPG quality, then select Convert to JPG.
- Check the actual output size and dimensions before downloading.
The browser decodes the WebP and exports a new JPEG. The original file stays on your device, and the output keeps the same pixel width and height. Unlike a target-size compressor, this tool does not shrink dimensions to reach a KB limit. The JPG may be larger than the WebP.
What changes during conversion?
JPG and JPEG are names for the same output format. JPEG uses lossy compression, so details may soften as quality is reduced. Raising the quality usually increases file size; the actual bytes depend on the image. Compare the preview and reported file size before downloading.
JPG does not support transparent pixels. This converter places them on a white background before encoding. An animated WebP produces one still JPG frame, not an animation. If you need to preserve transparency or motion, keep the WebP instead.
When to use a different tool
Use the image KB reducer when a form requires a maximum file size. It can reduce WebP or JPG to a target and may lower dimensions when necessary. Use the image dimensions checker when you only need to inspect width, height, format, and stored bytes. Changing format alone does not guarantee a smaller file.
Frequently asked questions
Is the WebP file uploaded?
No. Decoding, JPEG encoding, preview, and download happen locally in your browser. ToolFoundry does not receive the selected image.
Will the JPG have the same dimensions?
Yes. The exported JPG has the same pixel width and height as the decoded WebP frame. JPEG quality changes compression, not dimensions. Check the reported output before using it in a workflow with strict pixel requirements.
Why did the file size increase?
WebP can store the same picture more efficiently than JPEG. A high-quality JPG may use more bytes than its WebP source. Lower the quality if the result is too large, or use the byte-target compressor when the receiving service specifies a maximum KB value.
Can I convert animated WebP to an animated JPG?
No. JPEG is a still-image format. This tool exports one frame. Keep the WebP if animation matters.
