Convert WebP for an application that needs PNG
Choose a WebP file and select Convert to PNG. The browser decodes the picture and encodes a new PNG, rather than changing the file extension. Check the output preview, dimensions, and byte size before downloading.
Preserve transparency instead of flattening it
PNG supports an alpha channel. Transparent pixels in the decoded WebP frame remain transparent in this export. This is useful for icons, overlays, and graphics placed on different backgrounds. The preview surface may show through these pixels; it is not baked into the PNG.
If you need a photograph for a service that only accepts JPEG, use WebP to JPG. That export fills transparent areas with white because JPEG cannot retain them.
PNG output is lossless, but the source may not be
PNG retains the decoded frame without another lossy compression stage. A lossy WebP source may already contain compression artifacts, and converting it cannot reverse them. PNG can be larger than WebP, especially for photos. There is no quality slider because this tool exports lossless PNG.
What about animated WebP?
This tool exports one still frame, not an animated PNG or all frames as separate images. Keep the original WebP if motion matters. The output dimensions match the decoded frame, so conversion alone does not resize or crop it. Use Resize Image or Crop Image for those tasks.
Limits and privacy
Choose WebP up to 40 MB and 20 megapixels, with output edges up to 8192 pixels. Browser decoding support is required; unsupported output is reported instead of downloading a mislabeled file. Original EXIF and other source metadata are not copied into the new PNG. Conversion stays in your browser and leaves the source unchanged.
Need a smaller file for an upload form? Use the image KB reducer, checking that its output format meets the destination's requirements.
